Everybody needs Jesus. Kids too.
Sometimes, youth ministry just winds up being baby-sitting or entertainment. We don't want that to happen. Instead, whenever kids of any age come to the Resurrection, we seek to help them really get to know and trust Jesus, by understanding the Gospel. This ministry is called ResKids.
Since our youth are often learning in a different room than the adults until they are teenagers, we don't always get to know them that well. That's no good. So our solution is our ResKids Sunday.
Simply put, ResKids Sundays are a lot of fun.
Basically, we carve out a night and make sure our youth know we care about them.
We are not a great big church. We thrive on relationships. We want our adults to know our kids and kids know our adults. We play games together and foster healthy interaction.
And we learn from Jesus, together.
...[Jesus said], “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them" (Mark 10:13-16 ESV).
Young people matter to God. And they matter to us.
Our kids are a part of this church too, and we want them to know it.
